Welcome

Over the years, I've had a few pieces of fiction published. Usually in magazines or online. But thanks to the good people at Featherproof Books, I can now say I've made it to the iPhone.

Featherproof is a great independent publisher, with an illustrious list of authors such as Todd Dills, Joe Meno, Patrick Somerville, Jonathan Messinger, Susannah Felts and others. Besides a slew of great old-fashioned paper books, they've taken a brave step toward the future of fiction -- short and electronic.

Their new project is called TripleQuick Fiction, which publishes short stories through a fancy iPhone/iPod Touch application. Authors get a maximum of 333 words, split across three swipe-able screens.

And it's not easy to tell a story in 333 words. But I did. It's called "The Poncho and the Plan." It's kind of a gritty high school story, I suppose. I'm terrible at describing both my fiction and my songwriting. It's probably best that you just read it for yourself.

But before you can read it, you have to buy the app, which is downloadable here from iTunes for a paltry $1.99.

Welcome to the future. It's nice to see you.
